Joy Wilder | Founder and Director
Montesshare is the most recent piece of Joy’s Montessori legacy, a legacy of peace for parents, children and our planet!  She has always been passionate about enriching her community.  She holds Marketing and Sociology degrees from the College of William and Mary.  She homeschools her three oldest children, serves on the Board of Owners at ToTH Montessori, as the Moms Next Leader for her local MOPS group and is the former Location Co-Pastor of Capital City Church.

Joy is also the founder of Brilliant Life Business where she helps service based business owners transition into online business models generating passive income.  She is the host of the Brilliant Life Show found via Podcast, Facebook or YouTube videos, where she shares life, parenting and business tips.

Joy is Mom to four beautiful children, a spinning junkie and loves a mean game of Settlers.

Montessori Lead Teacher
Nathaly is a passionate Montessori guide who hails from Colombia. She has a degree in Psychology, is a certified Montessori Toddler teacher and has completing her Primary certification.  She has been a lead Toddler teacher and boasts twelve years experience creating and implementing a Montessori Spanish curriculum on both the Toddler and Primary level.

When she became pregnant with her now eleven year old, she began to search for an educational method that would allow her to raise a happy, peaceful and smart child. She discovered Montessori and started a journey that changed their lives forever.

Through her psychology and Montessori background, Nathaly is able to understand children’s needs and nurture their readiness to discover their environment. This has, “...prepared me to gaze in awe at the wonders of their little minds which are the treasures of my soul.”

Nathaly enjoys family time, camping, reading, gardening and decluttering. She has a secret obsession with organizing school supplies and enjoys her coffee with an indulgent piece of chocolate.

Gillian Emmens | Assistant Teacher 
      Gillian hails from New Jersey and joined us after teaching in a Montessori-esque preschool in New Jersey.  She had spent some time in D.C. prior studying psychology at American University. Gillian's true passion is working with young children. She first discovered this passion when babysitting throughout high school. Her experience teaching has solidified her love of young children.  

      In Gillian's free time, she enjoys devouring a variety of books, dabbling in creative writing and practicing archery. 
David Rolls | Substitute Teacher
David was Montesshare's Teacher Assistant and is now pursuing some other side businesses.  He hails from Oxford, England and has his B.A. in Political Science. He had his own business teaching English in Spain for 14 years. He recently taught for two years as bilingual, PreK3 lead teacher in Virginia.

He enjoys family, sports, cooking up culinary concoctions, and a versatile side business of voice overs, podcasting and script and copy writing.

David was Montesshare's assistant teacher and is now pursuing some other business ventures.  But, he is still our go to sub!  David hails from Oxford, England and has his B.A. in Political Science. He had his own business teaching English in Spain for 14 years. He recently taught for two years as bilingual, PreK3 lead teacher in Virginia.

He enjoys family, sports, cooking up culinary concoctions, and a versatile side business of voice overs, podcasting and script and copy writing. 
Sylvia Boyle | Substitute Teacher 
Sylvia Boyle, a certified educator with over 10 years of experience, comes to Montesshare with a deeply rooted zeal to ensure all children receive a holistic, creative and mindful learning experience.

Her extensive coursework in early childhood pedagogy along with her love of theater and music has her fully equipped to cultivate young learners' innate sense of exploration, creativity and critical thinking.

Sylvia holds her Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Early Childhood, Elementary Education and Spanish, has a Masters in Educational Leadership and is a certified ESL specialist. She and her husband have one little boy and reside here in Alexandria.
Julie Arms | Substitute Teacher
Julie Arms is excited about joining the Montesshare team and sharing her love for learning. She recently retired from a rich, successful and satisfying career with Fairfax County Public Schools, where she taught second grade, as well as ESOL for students in kindergarten through fifth grades.

Licensed in Virginia, Julie holds a B.S. in Economics and a Masters of Education. She served with the Peace Corps in Guatemala and speaks conversational Spanish.

Julie and her husband have resided in Alexandria for more than thirty years and enjoy having their adult children and families close by. When she’s not out enjoying her grandkids, Julie can be found in her vegetable or monarch butterfly gardens, with her nose in a good book, traveling or enjoying a good meal with friends.
