“What is the greatest height of a Montessori teacher’s success? To be able to say:
“Now the children work as if I did not exist,” She has become nothing and the children have become all…
“I have served the spirit of these children so that they have achieved development
and I have accompanied them in all their experiences,”

Lead Teacher - Cimbria Peterson
2019-20
Cimbria has a deep passion for nurturing children through the Montessori Method. She received her AMS Montessori Certification in 2008. She has since taught Spanish, as well as assisted and substituted in two other Montessori schools.

Cimbria moved to Fairfax in the summer of 2018 with her husband of 18 years, two daughters, ages 13 and 15, two cats, and one dog. They are a Navy family, and after their 10th move, they have fallen in love with the D.C. area and are settling into their forever home.

Cimbria first heard of Montessori when she was seeking a preschool option for her oldest daughter. She went to the library and checked out and read multiple Montessori books. She was hooked! After receiving her Montessori certification, she applied her Montessori training and curriculum planning skills to homeschool both of her children for six years. Her children recently started in the public school system, which leaves her time to follow her passion and teach at a Montessori school.

In her free time Cimbria loves to spend time with her family, read, listen to audio books, travel, go to museums, play board games, puzzle, cook, walk, and break out into spontaneous dance parties.
Valerie brims with passion for nurturing children and supporting parents using Montessori as a guide. A fluent Spanish speaker, she is skilled at teaching preschoolers in both Spanish and English. She has over ten years of working with children from birth to teens.
